We always look forward to getting together for family and friend birthday parties. It's always a good time and there is always good food. This party happened to be for Gabby and the kabobs were fun and delicious.

Easter is here already!

I love Easter. It's a wonderful time of year that let's you know that spring is on it's way even though it's snowing outside. I love easter candy and making easter treats. This year we are so blessed to have General Conference on Easter Sunday. What a great opportunity to spend time at home with my family watching conference and enjoying easter at the same time.

I can't believe that we are just a few months away from school being over for another year and summer around the corner. Where does the time go? This year my boys want to get back into paintball again. They haven't had paintball guns for several years and somehow they are making a comeback. We are planning tournaments and anxiously waiting for our new guns to show up.

I am ready to get back to some of the things that I have had on the back burner. I have some sewing to do, books to read, and I can't wait to get outside and start walking again. I miss that. I hope that everyone is doing great and that you families are healthy.

Winter has arrived!

BRRRRR! Winter came so fast. It is true that it makes it easier to get into the Christmas spirit when there is snow outside. It has a beauty all it's own and it wouldn't feel like Christmas without it. I was so happy to have my children home over Thanksgiving and cornered them into helping me get our Christmas decorations out and up. I love the Christmas tree. It warms the house and sets the mood. I love to get up in the morning and turn everything on and see the lights. I am always thankful for my family and that time that we can spend together during the holidays. I love the Christmas parties and getting together. I hope that this season finds all of our friends and family well.

Happy Thanksgiving - It's coming fast

I love Thanksgiving. I think it's because I love being with my family and I love to cook. There is nothing better than staying home and cooking, smelling, and anticipating a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. And then there is the leftovers? I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and that it is time to create memories with your loved ones.

Okay so I finally took a few days off and decided to get some of my projects done. The list is so long it's hard to know where to start. Jordan has a few weeks before he moves to Utah to start a new job so I have to take advantage of his time while I can. He is such a great help and it's fun to spend time together since he has been gone for 6 months. We have made some great progress and I am excited that we were able to do some major de-junking of the house. Working full time doesn't give me many opportunities to get those hard to get to projects done. I would have put before and after pictures on but I only thought of it after and so it wouldn't be as meaningful. Maybe before we start the next one I will remember. Love you all. Lori

We love Conference Weekend!

Conference was awesome! We have never been down to conference for a live session so we decided it was time. We were able to get tickets for the Sunday morning session and see a broadcast for the Sounds of Sunday before conference started. The choir is so incredible and they add so much to the spirit of the conference. We went down on Saturday and stopped for lunch at Maddox and then went onto Salt Lake to hang out for awhile. We walked around the Gateway Mall for awhile and had some ice cream. Then back to the Hotel for some swimming and hanging out. It was so fun to hang out with my family. We wish that Jon and Lindsay could have been with us but maybe next time. They stayed home and babysat Toby for us and enjoyed conference from the comfort of the couch. Leask Family Party

Last weekend was so fun. We had a quick family get together with both sides of the family. My family had several birthdays that week and Jordan arrived home from Maryland safely so it was a good time to celebrate. The weather was perfect and the food was delicious. I am so grateful to have wonderful family that loves to get together and supports each other. What would we ever do without them. Later that evening Alan's family came and stayed for a couple of nights. It was good to see them and have all the kids hang out together for awhile. They had a fun trip to Yellowstone and saw some wildlife. It was quick, but it was fun. The boys played some football and everyone had a nice chat.

We celebrated 4 birthdays in one week so we had to have plenty of dessert!

Jordan's Coming HOME!!!

We are so excited that Jordan is on his way home. He has been back in Maryland since April working with a security company handling all of their installations. He is finally done and headed for home. He is driving as we speak.

We are busy tonight learning more about how to manage our blogs with Lindsay as our excellent instructor. It's fun and she is very patient with us newbies.

Catching up finally

Wow can you believe that summer is over? It went by so fast. Things sometimes seem to be a blurr. We have been crazy busy but it's all been great. My family is settling back into school/college routines and everyone is doing well. Jordan will be home in just 5 DAYS! We are so excited we have missed him a lot this summer.

Today was Jonathan's 24th birthday. We had a great Birthday celebration at the Hansen's with fantastic food and good company. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people as in-laws. Our darling daughter-in-law made the most darling guitar cake that took several hours for a surprise. It was awesome!

Kelsey is adjusting to college life quite well and is excited that one of her roommates (that was a little hard to live with) relocated this weekend and she now has the bathroom to herself! That was a big relief.

I just returned from a week long conference in Jackson, Wyoming. I learned amazing things about laboratory science and the human body. I never knew that the liver was such an exciting organ. The weather was wonderful and the area is beautiful. I hope to get a chance to go back in a few weeks to see the changing leaves of fall. They were still pretty green at this point.

I am blessed to have such wonderful friends and family and the opportunity to have the gospel in my life. I pray this finds all of you well and I will try and update more often. (Probably this Thursday when we have our second blogging class taught by my expert daughter-in-law, Lindsay)

Summer if flying by so fast!

Okay so it's time to catch up on everything that's been happening over the past month. We did get Kelsey graduated from High School and that was fun. Then we took off for 10 days to California. I had a conference in San Diego for a few days and so we decided to make a family trip out it. We had a blast going to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park and Disneyland. We walked and walked and walked. The weather was good but not great. We were able to visit with Alan's family while we were there and also with my sister Susan's family. It was a great way to kick of the summer.

So now we are heavy into our summer schedule (except for Justin of course). Kelsey is working hard at my office running courier and helping with the research department. The 4th of July came so fast but it was fun. We stayed here and enjoyed a barbeque with family. The fireworks were great and it always makes me feel proud to live in such a wonderful place. I am convinced that we still have the best fireworks show around.

This past weekend we got to spend a day in Island Park at my sister Susan's cabin. The weather was beautiful and we got the opportunity to go boating and tubing. It was a blast. We came home sunburned and a little sore but with big smiles from having spent time with cousins and enjoying the surroundings.

Justin turned 14 this past month and was ordained to the office of a teacher. We are so proud of his accomplishments. This coming week Justin will be going on his first High Adventure activity with the Young Mens. They are going to Island Park (stopping at Big Judd's for a hamburger of course on the way) and staying at one of the leader's cabins. Over the next 3 days they are going to Yellowstone to go thru the Park, attend a play at the playmill, pan for gold at Virginia City, Float the Buffalo River, Mountain Bike down Mount Satell, and even get in a game of golf while they are there. He is excited and I am sure will come home very tired and probably more sunburned.

Kelsey is getting ready to attend Idaho State University and will move down to Pocatello in the fall. She is really excited and is pretty sure she has life all figured out for the moment.

We truly miss Jon, Lindsay, and Jordan while they are away for the summer in Washington D.C but they have had a great experience and I truly feel that they have grown from it. They have also had the opportunity to see a lot of sights in our Nations Capitol and realize more of our precious heritage. They will be back Aug/Sep in time for school at ISU. We are so very proud of them and thanks to my awesome, talented, daughter-in-law I can learn to blog (she still helps a lot because I am a slow learner) and keep in touch with more of my friends and family.

Time to Celebrate!
Kelsey will graduate from High School tomorrow night! We are all so excited. She has been on a no sleep schedule now for about a solid week. She went to Lagoon for her senior trip and had a blast and then we decorated until midnight for the Commencement Dance that she was in charge of. The dance was a great success and everyone had a good time. Alan and I got to chaperone (I think that's how you spell it). It was fun.

She Graduated from Seminary about a week ago. We are excited we finally have a 4 year graduate from Seminary.

We have been super busy with High School tennis. We went all the way to Boise to play in the State tournament. It was fierce competition but we came out victorious! Our dad coached the boys team to a State Title!

We are headed to California this week for my work but decided to take the family and make a little vacation out it. We will be in San Diego for a week and then up to visit Alan's family and my family. It will be fun to get away and take a little break.
